Scarlett Johansson Launches Outset Vegan Skincare Line

Scarlett Johansson is the most recent celebrity to launch a vegan skincare line, and so far, it’s living up to the hype! Each product is free from fragrance, microplastics, parabens, phthalates, sulfates, common allergens, and of course, cruelty. Additionally, they are dermatologists + allergy tested, and an ideal option for sensitive skin.

Judging by SJ’s glowing complexion, it’s clear she’s made good use of her own products. In fact, her favorite is the Restorative Niacinamide Night Cream.

The collection also includes a Micellar Antioxidant Cleanser, Vegan Collagen Prep Serum, Squalane Daily Moisturizer, and a Vitamin C Eye + Expression Lines Cream. These products range from $32-$54 and are suitable for all skin types.

The Outset has even implemented a botanical and vegan alternative to hyaluronic acid; the Hyaloreset Complex. It’s sourced from the seeds of the Cassia flower and is meant to plump, smooth, and nourish the skin. Did you know not all conventional hyaluronic acid is vegan? It can either be derived from rooster combs (coxcomb), or from microbial fermentation. So, as vegans, it’s important for us to research the origin of the hyaluronic acid our favorite brands use before purchasing.

The effective and plant-based ‘Hyaloreset’ ingredient is used in The Outset’s cleanser, prep serum, and a daily moisturizer.

What about the brand’s sustainability standards? Well, their packaging is a mix of post-consumer recycled material, recyclable glass, and bio-resin derived from sugarcane! Plus, each product is formulated with botanical extracts and oils combined with safe synthetics to minimize their environmental impact. Their cartons and shippers are also planet-friendly, manufactured in 100% wind-powered and carbon-neutral facilities using totally recyclable and FSC-Certified paper.
