Starbucks Adds OmniFoods Vegan Seafood To Its Menu!

After introducing Oatly plant milk, Impossible vegan sausage, and even their own chickpea-based protein bowl, Starbucks is ready to take on yet another vegan item — specifically, a seafood substitute.

This time, it’s OmniFoods’ vegan crab cakes, featured in their upcoming Thai Style New Crab Cake Salad to be launched at 170 Hong Kong locations. However, although the crab cakes themselves are 100% vegan, the salad does require one modification to become totally suitable for vegans. It will be served with lettuce, tomato, pomelo, pumpkin, and a dressing on the side that contains fish sauce. Simply omit the salad dressing, or replace with your own to ‘veganize’ this item entirely.

This marks the first-ever time Starbucks will introduce plant-based seafood to its menu.

“We are thrilled to have Starbucks Hong Kong to be one of our first OmniSeafood launch partners,” shared OmniFoods’ founder, David Yeung.

As Hong Kong is the first city to launch this new Starbucks item, we can expect other locations to adopt the meal as well, over time. If you’d like to see it arrive in your region, you can always contact Starbucks’ team and let them know you and your friends are ready for some vegan crab cake salads!
