The Complete Guide To Vegan Beer Brands

For those 21 years old or older.*

If you’re wondering how difficult it is to find a vegan beer, you’ll be happy to know it’s not difficult at all! Most beers are vegan-friendly, although some — especially artisanal beers — do use animal derivatives in the filtering process. However, since more commercial beers are readily available almost anywhere, you shouldn’t have trouble finding the perfect brew for you.

The most common animal-derived ingredients are isinglass (fish bladder) and gelatin, which are sometimes used to simplify the filtering process. However, many breweries have let go of this tradition, since it’s not necessary, and the vegetarian/vegan community has been growing considerably. In fact, almost 13% of the brewers who form part of the Society of Independent Brewers are working to make all of their beers vegan!

However, these are not the only non-vegan ingredients that can be found in beer. Some use honey, and in few instances, even milk. Keep reading and discover some of the best vegan beers in the U.S., that you can enjoy while you watch this year’s big game!
