Top Protein Meat Crumbles
Lightlife: Did you know this brand has been around for 40 years? They’re pioneers in the plant-based and non-GMO industries, which is why their “Smart Crumbles (Original)” do not disappoint. In fact, these healthy, high-protein crumbles contain 16.5g of protein, for only 105 calories and 0g fat. Therefore, they are an excellent alternative to conventional meat.
Gardein: One of the greatest things about Gardein, is its availability. You’ll find their products in almost any supermarket, so they’re an easy swap from beef. Additionally, the “ultimate beefless ground” contains 12g of protein (at only 80 calories), and can be used as a replacement in almost any ground meat recipe.
Least Fat & Saturated Fats
Boca: If your biggest concern is keeping your diet low-fat and heart-healthy, then Boca’s “original veggie crumbles” take the cake. They contain 0g of fat and saturated fats, 60 calories, and 210mg of sodium, which makes this the cleanest product on our list. To top it all off, it’s made with non-GMO soy.
Lightlife: On top of scoring a win for highest protein, as we’ve mentioned, these crumbles are entirely fat-free. However, watch out for the sodium content (480mg)!
Top Iron Vegan
Beyond Meat: This company knows that iron is a big concern for those considering a plant-based diet. Therefore, their Beyond Beef Crumbles (both flavors) contains 25% of your daily recommended intake. They also have the lowest carbs out of all the products on our list: only 3g. Try their “beefy” crumbles in anything from moussaka to chili, and their “feisty” crumbles, in tacos and burritos.
Boca: This beef alternative is the queen of clean, at only 60 calories! Plus, compared to MorningStar Farms’ 60-calorie “Grillers Crumbles”, it contains more protein and iron, and less sodium and fat.
