Their Story

Once Again was founded by Jeremy Thaler and Constance Potter in 1976, after having already established a worker cooperative distribution, and a bakery in which they used a barrel roaster to produce granola. A friend gave Jeremy the idea to use their barrel roaster to make peanut butter, and the rest was history.

This company is 100% employee-owned, and they maintain a 7:1 compensation ratio of highest to lowest-paid employees. It's also democratically managed by their entire team, and each employee has voting rights! All growers and collaborators make a fair wage, according to their Honest In Trade Sustainability Program practices. They work with nut and seed growers in developing countries, and collaborate with co-ops to improve their living conditions and provide them with better opportunities to grow and succeed. A super unique and ethical business model! Do you see why they stood out to us?
