Is Non-Dairy Creamer Bad For You?

Is non-dairy creamer bad for you

Although some commercial non-dairy creamers may contain harmful ingredients, this certainly doesn’t mean all are bad for you. In fact, most of the more highly-processed and ‘unhealthy’ non-dairy creamers on the market are typically not vegan at all. Many contain casein, “natural flavors”, or other possibly animal-derived ingredients. So, next time you pick up your favorite creamer from the store, you may want to check the label or brand website for a ‘certified vegan’ logo.

For an overview of some of the other controversial ingredients potentially lingering in your non-dairy creamer, check out our article “What Is Non-Dairy Creamer Made Of?” here. It’s worth mentioning, however, that some brands are creating excellent pure, natural, and 100% vegan creamers. Some noteworthy examples are Malk, SoDelicious, and NutPods! Alternatively, you can make your own creamer at home, using nuts, oats, coconut cream, or other simple plant-based ingredients. This way, you’ll know exactly what is going into your cup o’ joe! However you decide to flavor your drinks, we thank you for keeping our animal friends in mind in everything you do — to your vegan success!
