Before debuting their new dairy-free pizzas, Papa Murphy's take-and-bake pizza could be 'veganized' by simply creating your own and ordering it without cheese. Both the original and thin crust options are dairy-free, and 4 of their sauces are also vegan-friendly. However, you can now replace the traditional cheese in any of their pizzas with Violife's Just Like Mozzarella Shreds for a more flavorful meal!

This marks one of the first nationwide pizza chains to introduce dairy-free cheese on their permanent menu! It also marks the third lifestyle option Papa Murphy's has catered to on their permanent menu, after their gluten-free crust and crustless keto-friendly pizza debuts.

What Are Violife Just Like Mozzarella Shreds?

Violife is a plant-based substitute brand that offers a vast selection of affordable vegan cheeses, spreads, deli slices, butter, and more. Most of their cheesy selection is made with a base of coconut oil and a type of starch.

Such is the case with their Just Like Mozzarella Shreds, which are made with coconut oil, corn and potato starch, sea salt, vegan mozzarella flavor, and other plant extracts. It's also fortified with 30% of your daily vitamin B12 requirement! You'll just want to watch out for its saturated fat content, since it contains 30% of the daily allowance per serving.

Currently, Violife's dairy-free cheese is available at most major U.S. supermarket chains. However, after their partnership with Papa Murphy's, we hope to see their products used in more popular restaurants!

Not to worry! This pizza chain offers vegan-friendly crusts for your dairy-free needs. Select their Original Crust, Pan Crust, or Thin Crust options for the perfect dairy-free base. Their gluten-free crust is sadly non-vegan, since it's made with eggs. However, you can alternatively go for one of their crustless keto-friendly pizzas if you are gluten-free!

There are two confirmed vegan sauces at this popular chain! Go for their Traditional Red Sauce, or Olive Oil & Garlic for a surefire swap. Their Sweet Chili Sauce and BBQ Sauce may also be vegan; however, they both contain 'natural flavors', which we cannot confirm are 100% free of animal derivatives.

Papa Murphy's Violife Dairy-Free Cheese is the only vegan cheese offered by the chain as of 2022. However, you can still order your vegan pizza without cheese if you'd prefer.
